บทคัดย่อ
กวางถือเป็นสัตว์เศรษฐกิจใหม่ที่สามารถสร้างผลตอบแทนให้กับเกษตรกรจากผลผลิตเขากวางอ่อน เขากวางแข็ง เนื้อกวาง หนังกวาง รวมถึงผลผลิตในเชิงธุรกิจท่องเที่ยว แต่การทำฟาร์มกวางให้ประสบความสำเร็จนั้นต้องศึกษาและเข้าใจพฤติกรรมของกวางอย่างลึกซึ้ง โดยเฉพาะเมื่อต้องเลี้ยงกวางในคอกที่มีขนาดพื้นที่จำกัดและมุ่งเน้นผลผลิตแบบเข้มข้น การจัดแบ่งระบบชนชั้นภายในฝูงกวางเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญที่สุดที่ส่งผลให้กวางเกิดความเครียดและมีผลต่อผลผลิตที่ได้จากกวางเช่น การแสดงความเป็นใหญ่เพื่อครอบครองพื้นที่ส่วนใหญ่ในคอก การเข้าถึงภาชนะใส่อาหารและน้ำก่อนตัวอื่นการขับไล่ตัวที่อ่อนแอออกจากฝูง จากการศึกษาในครั้งนี้พบว่า การจัดแบ่งระบบชนชั้นภายในฝูงกวางส่งผลกระทบโดยตรงต่อ Body Condition Scoresของกวาง
