Diversity of Kafak Ma Muang (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.) and Host Plant in Wildlife Conservation Area of Wat Klaikang Won (Khao Sarapuddee Sri Charoenthum), Hunka District, Chainat Province

Abstract

               The diversity of Kafak ma muang in wildlife conservation area of Wat Klaikang Won in the 600,000 square meters (375 Rai) found that the kafak ma muang in the Family of Loranthaceae which is Kafak ma muang (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.) on the 8 species of host plants. The kafak ma muang were located on trees with the height of average 7.63 meters from ground. The diversity of host trees found 5 Families, 8 Genus and 8 species 1) Casuarinaceae found 1 species which is Son thale (Casuarina equisetifolia L.) 2) Guttiferae found 1 species which is Kra thing (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) 3) Fabaceae found 4 species which  are Ratcha phruek (Cassia fistula L.), Khi lek (Senna siamea (Lam.) H.S. Irwin & Barneby), Cha nuan (Dalbergia nigrescens Kurz) and Pradu ban (Pterocarpus indicus Willd.) 4) Meliaceae found 1 species which is Sadao india (Azadirachta indica A.Juss.) and 5) Rhamnaceae found 1 species which is Phutsa (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) The host plants found 8 species and 221 trees with Kafak ma muang on 15 trees which 48 clumps, the average density was 3.20 clumps/tree, the totally 221 trees with the area density of 0.03683 trees/100 square meters.
