Opinions of Para Rubber Tree Growerson their Enterprise in Phayao Province

Abstract

            The objectives of this study were to determine the socio-economic condition, opinions levels and factors affecting the people opinions on para rubber tree growers on their enterprise in Phayao province. The using data was collected and designed questionnaires 354 respondents. The statistical used in data analysis were percent, mean, maximum, minimum and testing the hypothesis by employing a t-test and F-test with the given significant level of 0.05.

Results of the study indicated that the most respondents were male (75.42%) and with the average age of 49.02 years. Primary school was their educational level, Buddhist was their religion. Their main occupation was para rubber grower (44.63%) and subsidiary occupation (89.83%). The average number of household member was 4 persons. The average annual household and income from para rubber were 242,031.64 and 97,932.32 baht, respectively. Their average annual household expenditure and para rubber expenditure were 100,996.33 and 27,026.55 baht, respectively. Their average size of land holding was 15.62 rais. An initiation to planted para rubber tree from planting promotion agency. Their average experience planted para rubber tree was 9.35 years. The most respondents received training information and no studied tours about para rubber. Their opinions on para rubber tree growers on their enterprise was at the high level.

            Factors affecting the opinions on para rubber tree growers on their enterprise were size of land holding, an initiative to planted para rubber tree, received training and knowledge about para rubber. The relevant agencies should provided training and knowledge on planting, harvesting, processing, marketing, coupled of forest resource conservation of para rubber.
