Abstract

The development of eucalypt's flower and fruit was studied using the materials of Eucalyptus camaldulensis clone S 10. The development of the flower was classified into two phases, a phase before blooming and a phase during blooming. The phase before blooming took 4-6 months which was classified, basing on flower's morphology, into 4 stages, flowers enclosed in a bract, 7 flower buds with two opercula pronoucely appeared, the flower remained one green layer operculum and the stage where the operculum became yellow. The blooming phase took 7-12 days and classified into 3 stages, flower opening, receptive stigma and fertilization with loosing style and other floral parts. The flower with yellow operculum was the suitable stage for doing stamens emasculation. Fruit development took 2.5-4.5 months from the fertilization stage. This phase was classified into 2 stages, an immature fruit and a mature fruit. The stage of the immature fruit was mainly dealing with expansion of the ovary up to the mature size. The mature stage noticed by the fruit became brownish green with cross scar on top. The fruit with the cross on the top was the stage for harvesting fruits for collecting seeds.
