SURVEY ON THE NATURAL ENEMIES OF TEAK DEFOLIATOR, HYBLAEA PUERA CRAMER

Abstract

Seven species of insect parasites, five species of insect predators and one species of non-insect predator, were found as natural enemies of teak defoliator, Hyblaea puera Cramer, in teak planted area in six provinces. Two new records of insect parasite were found: Cotesya sp. was found at Klang Dong plantation, Nakorn Ratchasima province and Dolichogenidea sp. was found at Thong Pha Phum, Kanchanaburi province. Two species of predators; Sycanus collaris F. and Eocanthecona furcellata Wolff. Were commonly found in all places but their number were extremely high in Khon Kaen and Lampang provinces.
