Abstract

The study on bird species in mangrove forest at Ao Luk, Krabi Province in the Southern peninsular Thailand was conducted on June and August, 1987. A survey was carried out by direct count and indirect count method. There were 32 species of birds representing 28 genera in 20 families from 8 orders, recorded in this study area. Only three of 32 were classified as the migratory species, comprised of Common Redshank (Tringa totanus), Common Sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos), and Osprey (Pandion haliaetus).
