ECONOMIC OF CASUARINA JUNGHUHNIANA PLANTATION IN CHANGWAT CHACHOENSAO

Abstract

The private casuarina plantation in Changwat Chachoengsao has been established since 1974, but at a small scale, due mostly to the uncertainty of it's market emand and price. In order to expanding the project, the study on an economic analysis of casuarina plantation is needed, for abtaining the essential information to be used as guideline for the new investers who are attracted by the enterprise. The study found that net present values and benefit/cost ratio were maximum at all given interest rates (9, 11, 13 and 15 percent) when the plantation was 6 years old. The amount of such values were 11m489.88, 10,115, 8,910.11 and 7,849.80 baht/rai for present values and 4.57 4.29 4.93 and 3.79 for B/C, respectively. In addition the internal rate of return was found to be 59, 42 percent. (Note: 25 baht = 1 US S, 6.25 rai = 1 ha)
