Abstract

This study aimed to exploring community participation in water management of water resources and water quality. The researcher found that the water resources at Ban Phunamron community are insufficient to consume in dry season, especially in the Mon community. The results of the study on physical, chemical and biological indexes showed that surface water quality during rainy season and dry season did not exceed the standard criteria, except dissolve oxygen at Mon community. Groundwater quality is still standard, except for the two heavy metals, lead and cadmium, which should not be found in groundwater. The water shortages problem in the Mon community of Ban Phunamron was resolved by the abbot of the temple. The abbot allowed the villagers in the community to use groundwater from the temple. Furthermore, the villagers and the abbot needed the groundwater filter system and the water pipe system to send water to the houses in the Mon community. Therefore, the research team has coordinated with Kanchanaburi Rotary Club and Euijongbu Rotary Club, Korea District Grant sponsors a clean water filter system, and distributes water to the village. This research has resulted in the development of water management in the community and the solution of water problems at the point.
