ผลของความเครียดน้ำต่อการเจริญเติบโต ผลผลิตและคุณภาพเมล็ดเจีย

บทคัดย่อ

เจีย (Salvia hispanica L.) เป็นพืชในวงศ์ Lamiaceae มีถิ่นกำเนิดในประเทศเม็กซิโกและกัวเตมาลา เมล็ดเจียอุดมไปด้วยสารต้านอนุมูลอิสระ โอเมก้า-3 และโอเมก้า-6 จึงถูกนำมาใช้ประโยชน์อย่างแพร่หลาย โดยเฉพาะเป็นส่วนประกอบของเครื่องสำอาง และบริโภคเป็นพืชทางเลือกของกลุ่มโอเมก้า 3 แต่การผลิตเจียต้องมีการควบคุมปัจจัยการผลิตให้มีความเหมาะสม ซึ่งน้ำเป็นปัจจัยหลักในการปลูกพืช เมื่อพืชได้รับความชื้นที่ไม่เพียงพอสามารถทำให้ผลผลิตลดลง ดังนั้นการศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของความชื้นต่อการเจริญเติบโตและผลผลิตของเจีย วางแผนการทดลองแบบสุ่มสมบูรณ์ในบล็อค มีการให้น้ำ 3 ระดับ คือ 1) 100% 2) 70% 3) 40% Field capacity (FC)  ผลทดลองพบว่าเมื่อเจียที่ 40% FC ส่งผลให้การเจริญเติบโตของเจียทางด้านความสูงและทรงพุ่มลดลงอย่างชัดเจนเมื่อเจียอายุ 7 สัปดาห์ แต่ด้านอุณหภูมิใบเพิ่มขึ้นและส่งผลให้ค่าคลอโรฟิลล์ฟลูออเรสเซนต์มีประสิทธิภาพลดลงอย่างชัดเจนที่เจียอายุ 8 สัปดาห์ เมื่อพิจารณาด้านอัตราการเจริญเติบโต คือ อัตราการสะสมน้ำหนักแห้งต่อหน่วยพื้นที่ใบ (Net assimilation rate, NAR) ในช่วงอายุ 7–10 สัปดาห์หลังปลูก เจียยังมีความสามารถในการสะสมน้ำหนักแห้งได้ดี แต่ไม่ส่งผลต่ออัตราการเจริญเติบโตสัมพัทธ์ (Relative growth rate, RGR) และผลผลิตเจีย ด้านคุณภาพเมล็ดพันธุ์เจียคือเปอร์เซนการงอก ดัชนีการงอกของเมล็ด พบว่าไม่ส่งผลต่อคุณภาพเมล็ดพันธุ์เจีย จากการศึกษาบ่งชี้ได้ว่าเจียมีความสามารถปรับตัวได้ดีเมื่อได้รับความเครียดน้ำแม้ความจุความชื้นภาคสนามของดินที่ระดับ 40% FC การเจริญเติบโตของเจียยังคงให้ศักยภาพด้านการเจริญเติบโตและผลผลิตของเจียได้ดี
