Using of Trichoderma sp. plant disease control of farmers Ban Phaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study 1) personal characteristics 2) economic factors 3) knowledge about the use of Trichoderma sp. 4) using of Trichoderma sp. and 5) problems and suggestions from using Trichoderma sp. plant disease control of farmers in Ban Phaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province. Two hundred thirty farmers were interviewed. Data analysis by using descriptive statistics included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum. The results revealed that most of the farmers were female (53.50%), 51−67 year sold (35.20%), married (85.70%), elementary school level (80.40%) and with 2 years experiences of using Trichoderma sp. (79.10%). Total farming areas were averaged at 11–20 rai (50.40%) and mango was planted the most (40.00%) with productivity between 2,000–2,330 kg./rai/year (39.10%). Income was between 35,667–65,333 Baht/rai/year (35.70%) whereas expense was between 27,602−40,000 Baht/rai/year (37.80%). Overall, farmers had a high level of knowledge on using Trichoderma sp. (μ = 0.84). Farmers used Trichoderma sp. to control plant disease at a high level (μ =1.91) including preparation of culture medium, incubation of Trichoderma sp., Pulting of Trichoderma sp., soil and plant infection by Trichoderma sp. And preparation of mixing water with Trichoderma sp. (averaged at 1.95, 1.94, 1.93, 1.91 and 1.86, respectively)
