Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to determined the effects of nitrogen fertilizer when applied as single and split applications on yield and quality of CP-Pangola. The experiment was carried out in the Charoen Pokphand Seeds Company farm, Kamphaeng Phet. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with three replications. Treatments consisted of four different nitrogen rates (0, 14, 18 and 24 kg N/rai). Nitrogen fertilizer was applied as single or split applications. The results revealed that split application of nitrogen fertilizer significantly increased the dry matter yield, crude protein levels and nitrogen recovery. Split applications of nitrogen at the rate of 12 kg N/rai was recomended for improving the crude protein content of mature pasture (> 45 days).
