CORN DOWNY MILDEW RESEARCH AT KASETSART INIVERSITY
Abstract
Downy mildew (DM) of corn was first found in Thailand in 1968 in Nakorn Sawan province in the central plain. Since then the pathogen has spread over most of the corn belt and the severity has increased annually. The disease has been found in serious proportions in the farmer’s fields of 32 provinces. However, the most severely infected areas are in the central part which is the largest corn growing zone of the country.
