Medium Density Fiberboard From Dipterocarps
Abstract
The study on medium density fiberboard (MDF) manufactor of 6.4 millimeter board thickness from mixed species containing of 80% Dipterocarpus alatus by the wet process is reported. At the degree of freeness of DS, 16, the fiber mat must be sized with 2-4% phenolic resin and 0.25% paraffin emulsion in order to improve the board properties to pass the British Standard of BS 1142-1971 (HMN-Type) and the Australian Standard of AS 0114-1968.
