The microfilarial Periodicity of Dirofilaria immitis Leidy in Thailand

Abstract

The microfilarial periodicity was observed in seven stray dog from Bangkok infected with Dirofilaria immitis Leidy. The microfilariae showed unmarked nocturnally subperiodic type with the maximum number at 24.00 hour and 26.43 to 50.83 average percentage of microfilariae were found during the daytime.
