Abstract

Recommended rate of cassava fertilizer in Thailand was 50-50-50 kg/ha of N-P,O,-K,O. However, the farmers applied fertilizer at much lower rate than that recommended. All of fertilizer trials conducted in the past used high rates of fertilizer which were beyond the reach of the farmers. This research was conducted at Sriracha Research Station in Cholburi for three years during 1978- 1981. to determine the yield response of cassava to low rate of fertilizer at the rate of one-fourth. one-half. three-fourth, and of recommended rate. The soil in this station was sandy loam of Sattahip Series which was the typical soil of cassava growing area in the eastern part of the country. Average yield increased by fertilizer of one-fourth, one-half, three-fourth, and of recommended rate were 15. 21. 24 and 34%. respectively.
