Abstract

The distribution of enzyme butyrylcholinesterase in the chicken cerebellar cortex was studied by histochemical method using butyrylthiocholine as the substrate. The enzyme was uniformly localized in the perikarya and processes of the Bergmann glia or Golgi epithelial cell as well as in the glial cell at the molecular and granular layers. However, a mild reactivity of the enzyme was found in some Purkinje cells, while the others in the vicinity were devoid of it.
