Effect of Some Organic Matters on Growth and Development of 3 Asparagus Varieties Grown in Alluvial Sandy Soil in Amphur Thongphaphum, Kanchanaburi Province
Abstract
Effectd of Three organic matters; (corn cob, mungbean pod and cow dung) on growth of three asparagus varieties; (Marry Washington, UC. No. 309 and UC. No. 500) were studied in alluvial sandy soil. Split plot design was used in the experiment during December 1986 to May 1987 at Kwaenoi River bank, Tambon Hindart, Amphur Tongphaphum, Kanchanavuri Province. The results showed that cow dung and mungbean pod were decomposted earlier and gave similar effect to the growth of asparagus, while corn cob showed little change during the experimental period. For asparagus varieties, Marry Washington were well adapted to these growing conditions compared to UC. No. 309 and UC. No. 500.
