A Single Polymer Chain in Random Media with Long-Range Correlations
Keywords:
path integral, polymer chain, random media, long-range correlations, replica methodAbstract
A model of a flexible polymer chain in a random medium with long-range correlations and confined within a harmonic potential was the focus of this study. The model was solved in d-spatial dimensions using the path integral method. The polymer propagators, the mean squared displacement
of the far end of a polymer with one end fixed at the origin and the mean squared end-to-end displacement of a chain were derived, respectively. The properties of a polymer depended on the chain length and the correlation length. The difference between a polymer in a random quenching medium and a polymer in an annealed random medium was elucidated.
