Water Quality and Diversity of Plankton in Oyster Culture at Kadea Estuary, Kanchanadit Suratthani Province

Abstract

        Study diversity of plankton and water quality in oyster culture at Kadea Estuary, Kanchanadit Suratthani Province. Samples were collected from 5 stations during June - August 2019. The sample were collected from 5 sampling sites. The results water quality including water temperature, transparency, salinity, conductivity, pH, Dissolved oxygen, BOD and orthophosphate. The mean values were 29.58±0.412°C, 29.96±1.106 cm, 18.46±0.430 parts per thousand, 17.74±0.378 µS/cm, 7.10±0.137, 5.54±0.307 mg/L, 3.60±0.130 mg/L, and 0.20. ±0.013 mg/l, respectively. Water quality was in the standard of coastal sea water for aquaculture. The results showed that were found in 2 divisions, 1 phylum with 12 species phytoplankton was found 2 Division is Division Chromophyta 6 species include Gyrosigma sp., Coscinodiscus sp., Surirella sp., Coscinodiscus crenulatus, Thalassionema nitzschioides and Odontella sinensis and Division Chlorophyta 1 species include Ulothrix zonata and was found zooplankton 1 Phylum is Phylum Artropoda 5 species include Copepod nauplii, Harpacticoid copepod, Nauplius shrimp, Lecane, Calanoid copepod. The Index of species diversity and evenness index of plankton were 0.486 and 0.776 respectively. The observed indices relationships between total plankton to water qualities. The correlation showed negative related to water temperature and pH (p<0.001).
