Abstract

The objective of this research was to study on growth and yield of strawberry planting at Sakon Nakhon province. The experiment was designed in randomized complete block design; RCBD with 3 treatments (3 varieties: Prarachatan 70, Prarachatan 72 and Prarachatan 80) and 3 replications at plant science field of Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University between November, 2011 and March, 2012. Daughter plants of strawberry came from Doi Pui Research Station, Chiang Mai province. The results showed that the growth of Prarachatan 80 was the best, followed by, Prarachatan 72 and Prarachatan 70, respectively. Prarachatan 80 showed the most plant height, width of canopy and number of flowers and fruits. The differences were statistically at P<0.05 when compared with other varieties. The plants began to produce fruit in January and reach the peak production during on February and March. Prarachatan 80 yielded the highest number of fruits per plant, giving approximately 5 fruits per plant after 75 days and 6 fruits per plant after 90 days.
