Publication Ethics

Journal of Science and Technology, Ubon Ratchathani University

The editor will appoint at least two experts to review the quality of each article. These experts must have expertise directly related to the article's content and must not have any conflict of interest with the authors. The peer review process is double-blinded, meaning the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other.

The review outcomes can be one of four types: acceptance without revisions, acceptance with minor revisions, acceptance with major revisions and resubmission for further review, and rejection. To ensure that academic communication adheres to international publication standards, the journal has established the following publication ethics. All parties involved must strictly adhere to these principles and standards according to their roles and responsibilities as follows:

Roles of Authors
    1. The author's work must be original and unpublished elsewhere.
    2. Authors must cite other works if any text or ideas are used and provide references at the end of the article.
    3. Authors must write research articles according to the journal's prescribed format.
    4. All authors listed must have significantly contributed to the research.
    5. Authors must not plagiarize and must properly cite all used sources.
    6. Authors must agree to transfer copyright to the journal before publication and must not republish the work elsewhere after it has been published in the Journal of Science and Technology.
    7. If the research involves human or animal subjects, authors must attach a certificate of approval from the relevant ethics review board, and include the approval number or code in the article.

Roles of Editors
    1. Editors must review and assess all submitted articles for their relevance to the journal's focus and scope, and ensure the quality of articles during the review process and before publication.
    2. Editors must use academic reasoning in their decisions without bias towards the authors' race, gender, religion, culture, politics, or affiliation.
    3. Editors must not have any conflict of interest with the authors or reviewers and must not use the articles or journal for personal gain.
    4. Editors must not alter or influence the content of articles or reviewers' evaluations, nor interfere with the information exchanged between reviewers and authors.
    5. Editors must strictly adhere to the journal's processes and procedures.

Roles of Reviewers
    1. Reviewers must prioritize the quality of articles and assess them based on academic principles without bias or personal opinions, and must not have any conflict of interest with the authors.
    2. Reviewers must not exploit the articles they evaluate for personal gain.
    3. Reviewers must ensure they fully understand the content of the articles they review.
    4. If reviewers find that an article is plagiarized, they must inform the editor immediately.
    5. Reviewers must adhere to the review timeframe and keep the article's information confidential.
