Eucosmine moths (Lepidoptera:Tortricidae) from Khao Yai National Park, Thailand

Abstract

Eucosmini is the one tribe of micromoths in subfamily Olethreutinae belonging to family Tortricidae. The survey of Eucosmine moths was conducted in Khao Yai National Park during November 2009-October 2010 for the purpose of survey and species identification. Specimens were collected bi-monthly with a 20 watts blacklight and 2X2 m white sheet. The light was operated with 12 volts car battery during 06:00 pm to 06:00 am. Fifty one specimens were found and examined belonging to 25 morphotypes in 13 genera; a single morphotype of Epinotia, a single morphotype of Eucoenogenes, a single morphotype of Eucosmophyes, six morphotypes of genus Fibuloides, two morphotypes of genus Gypsonoma, three morphotypes of genus Holocola, a single morphotype of Icelita, three morphotypes of genus Lepteucosma, three morphotypes of genus Noduliferola, a single morphotype of Rhopobota, a single morphotype of Spilonota, a single morphotype of Strepsicrates and a single morphotype of Tritopterna. Six genera were recorded the first time for Thailand.
