CYTOLOGY OF SCLEROSPORA SORGHI AND AN ATTEMPT TO CULTURE ON MAIZE TISSUE
บทคัดย่อ
Cytology. – Cytogical studies of Scleropora sorghi Weston & Uppal were done in order to investigate nuclear behavior and number during the development of conidiophores and conidia, and to explore the possibility of using certain cytological features as an aid in identifying this group of fungi (1,3). Using acetocarmine, iron alum hematoxylin, and giemsa stains it was found that thalli, condiophores and conidia of S. sorghi were variable depending upon the size and stage of development of the fungus. Wongsinchuan (3) described seven stages of morphological and cytological development in the sporulation event of S. sorghi as followed:
