Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the acceptability of herbicide use in sugarcane fields using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) in Kumphawapi District, Udon Thani Province. The sample consisted of 344 sugarcane farmers. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, %, mean, and standard deviation. It was found that sugarcane farmers had moderate knowledge of using drones for spraying herbicides (3.33 ± 0.61) and were able to learn to use drones easily without any difficulties. Interestingly Sugarcane farmers are moderately interested in learning about drones (3.30 ± 0.66). In addition, using drones in sugarcane fields is complicated because they require a moderate level of skill and understanding (3.39 ± 0.65). Farmers Sugarcane therefore uses drones to spray herbicides instead of other methods at a moderate level (3.40 ± 0.63) in terms of acceptance. Farmers considering purchasing drones for agriculture had a high level of interest (3.52 ± 0.66)
