Background and Objectives This qualitative research aimed to study service models for pregnant women with anemia by examining the experiences of leader groups and healthcare providers in the southern border provinces of Thailand, using the World Health Organization's Six Building Blocks Health System framework.
Methods Data was gathered through in-depth interviews with key informants who were relevant to or had experienced working with healthcare services for pregnant women with anemia in the Khok Khian subdistrict, Mueang district; Bukit subdistrict, Cho Airong district, Narathiwat province; and Yaring district, Pattani province, totaling 20 participants. Data analysis was performed using content analysis.
Results The research findings revealed five key issues: 1) lack of supportive resources and continuous care systems, 2) lack of participation from religious and community leaders, 3) beliefs and behaviors of service recipients, 4) economic and social factors, and 5) lack of support from husbands and family members.
Conclusion and Recommendation Recommendations for system and mechanism development include distributing nutritional supplements, using tracking applications, and integrating religion and family. Addressing problems with cultural context understanding in the area, building community capacity, integrating relevant stakeholders, and using technology to support the healthcare system helps ensure the quality and sustainability of service delivery.
