Factors Predicting Good Quality of Life for Elderly People in Chanthaburi Province

Abstract

This objective of this study was the factors effecting to good quality of life and construct logistic regression equation for predictive good quality of life of the elders in Songpeenong Subdistrict, Chanthaburi Province. The two-stage sampling was used with a sample of 276 elderly people by structured interview. The descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution, percentage, mean and standard deviation, also the inferential statistics including binary logistic regression analysis by enter method were used as analytical statistics. The results showed that the model of logistic regression analysis were appropriate and consistent with the empirical data (-2 Log Likelihood (-2LL); 15 variables model =249.046 ; base model =326.780;  , df=8, Sig.=0.906). Predictor variables could explain good quality of life at 35.40 percent. The model were able to predict correct for quality of life 78.30 percent. The 3 factors effecting to good quality of life significance at 0.05 as physical integrity  (), tangible support () and self-awareness (), it could construct predictive logistic regression equation for good quality of life for elders as the model shown:
