The Effect of Readiness Preparation for Nursing Practice in Ward of 2nd year nursing students, Borommarajonnani college of Nursing, Ratchaburi.

Abstract

The quasi - experimental  research   aimed  to  test  the  effect of readiness preparation for nursing  practice  in  ward  and  to compare  the level  of  anxiety  of  nursing  student  before  and  after experiment,   to study  the level of  nursing student  ,  stratification  andnursing practice readiness. The samples were 108 nursing students of Borommarajonnani college of Nursing, Ratchaburi, year 2 of the academic year 2011. All subject received the readiness preparation of nursing practice for  1 week.


The  instruments used for collecting data was questionnaire, those have cronbach’s alpha coefficients 0.77-0.90. Data  analysis involved descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and t- test.The results were as follows :


1) The mean  score  of  anxiety  of  nursing  students   after experiment  were significantly  lower  than  before  the experiment   at < 0.001 level


2) Nursing students  ,stratification  of   readiness preparation for nursing  practice  in  ward  was  in high level .(= 4.05 , S.D.= .35)


3) The nursing practice readiness of nursing students  was in  middle level. (= 4.05 ,S.D.= .35)  


This study  result  suggested that the model  of  readiness  preparation  for nursing practice in ward may reduce anxiety among nursing students. The teachers who taught in this subject must to fine some method for more confidence in nursing practice of the student that skill should be provided especially in practice areas in order to benefit for student nurses and patients.
