The Development of Multimedia Website for Basic Chinese Conversation Practice

Abstract

The multimedia website for basic Chinese conversation practice was developed to help improving basic Chinese conversation skill in everyday life for students and people who are interested in learning Chinese. In this application development, several tools were used such as GoAnimate website as tool to create videos, Codelobster program for developing the website, and Adobe Photoshop CS6 program for image editing. The evaluation of satisfaction in performance efficiency of the multimedia website was conducted by computer specialists. The results showed that the multimedia website works properly within the required domain of interest. For instance, the selection of each lesson, the conversation and explanation for each Chinese vocabulary are at the good level, the convenience and the ease to use are at the great level. For the satisfaction evaluation of this multimedia website, it is found that the overall efficiency of this multimedia website is at good level. The multimedia website is useful to use in everyday life, has clear contents, easy to understand and the interface design is good. The accuracy and the content coverage are at the good level. The value of this multimedia website is to increase the self-learning capabilities.
