The Development of English Vocabulary Word Game of TOEIC on Android Operating System

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) develop an English vocabulary game for the TOEIC test on an Android operating system 2) find the efficiency of the game 3) compare pre-test and post-test results of the game 4) evaluate the game quality by a professor 5) evaluate student satisfaction. The sample test was carried out to students of computer engineering major, Faculty of Technical Education at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. During the second semester in the academic year of 2019, the total number of students in the research was 27. The sampling group was selected by the purposive sampling method. The research tools were 1) English vocabulary game of for the TOEIC test on an Android operating system, 2) the pre-test and post-test, 3) the quality form of English vocabulary game of TOEIC on the Android operating system, 4) The satisfaction forms of the computer game for students. The data were analyzed with means and standard deviation. The result found the efficiency of the English vocabulary game of the TOEIC test on the Android operating system was at 1.18, which was higher than the criteria 1.00 as formula Meguigans ratio. The mean of the pre-test scores was 36.67 and the mean of the post-test scores was 43.30. Moreover, the quality form evaluated by the professor was at a high level as well as the satisfaction forms by students.
