The Application of Graph Theory on Text Mining
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this research is to study the application of graph theory to seek relationship between words and categorize groups of words for finding meaning of the groups of words by giving examples of information from social media like Twitter on the topic related to “Amazon” during 11-18 February 2019. The findings from the study revealed that the most frequent morphemes were Funko Pop, billion profit, and pay tax respectively. Cluster analysis using a random walk algorithm found that the most popular Funko pop was BTS-Funko Pop-Jungkook while billion profit and pay tax were correlated as during that time Amazon was noticed that the company did not pay any taxes to the US government though they generated profits worth a billion dollars. It is consistent with graph analysis by measuring centrality that found that in a word network, the word “tax” is the centrality of the word network which plays its role in being a central node in the word network, a central node connecting to other nodes, and a central node connecting to other nodes of distant networks to be reachable through degree centrality and betweenness centrality measures.
