Abstract

This research aimed to develop a smart farm control system for sequential mulberry cultivation using embedded computer technology, evaluate the system performance, and transfer the technology to farmers. The developed system comprises three control modes: manual control, mobile application control integrated with closed-circuit television monitoring, and automatic control using Arduino with soil moisture sensors. The research employed a research and development methodology, testing the performance of all three system modes and transferring the technology to 40 farmers in Khok Sa-at Sub-district, Prasat District, Surin Province through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on trials. The research findings revealed that the system could manage up to four mulberry plots simultaneously, with operational efficiency of 100% for manual control, 97% for mobile application control, and 96% for automatic control. The system achieved 25% water conservation compared to traditional irrigation methods. Farmers expressed high satisfaction levels with a mean score of 4.17. The research demonstrates the significant potential of Internet of things technology in enhancing cultivation efficiency and developing farmer capabilities effectively.
