The purpose of this study was to analyze factors influencing adaptation of rice farmers to the drought situation in Mueang district, Lop Buri province. The 356 rice farmers, who affected by the drought situation in crop year 2015/16 were collected to be the samples using questionnaire approach. The descriptive and inferential statistics were utilized to explain farmers’ description and hypothesis testing, namely, mean, percentage, maximum, minimum, standard deviation (S.D.) and multiple regression analysis (MRA). The results of this study showed that the overall adaptation to drought situation was conducted in low level. Measuring of the adaptation consisted of three issues following 1) production adaptation (Low level), 2) economic and livelihood adaptation (Medium level) and 3) community and social participation in managing of drought situation (Low level). In addition to the results of the MRA, the factors influencing adaptation of rice farmers to drought situation were age, education, planted area, workforce, crop sequencing, non-agricultural income, knowledge for drought management and perception of drought impacts. Based on the policy implications, government and related stakeholders should: 1) promote career development not only farming but also non-farming, 2) promote crop rotation and integrated farming, 3) provide early
warning system for drought preparedness and management.
