Using of Chitosan on Growth Performance in Swine

Abstract
Supplementation of prebiotics are not harmful for the consumers and the environment. Chitosan is one of the popular choices in animal feed, especially in swine. Chitosan effectively increased the growth rate and animal health. Since chitosan is a prebiotic, it is stimulating the growth of beneficial microorganisms in
the digestive tract, and increasing digestibility of nutrients in swine. However, using chitosan on swine diets should be recommended at 300 ppm. The swine has a good performance and a good health. Therefore,chitosan supplementation should be supplemented in the feed for swine replace to the other growth promoters.
