Effect of Nitrogen Fertilizer on Growth and Yieid of Boesenbergia rotunda (Linn.) Mansf. in Phichit Province

Abstract

          Growing Fingerroot (Boesenbergia rotunda (Linn.) Mansf.) in Phichit province has the physical properties of in loam Soil. Appropriate use of fertilizer is important in increasing the yield of fingerroot.The aim of this study was examined the effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers on growth and yield of fingerroot.in farmers' plots. Phichit Province. The experiment was conducted in a Randomized Complete Block (RCB) with 4 replicates and 5 treatments.The treatments were set as control, and another 4 nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizer application rates: 4-1-18, 8-1-18, 15-1-18 และ 30-1-18 kilograms per rai. The results found that Fertilizing application  nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium at rate of 4-1-18 kilograms per rai. gave  growth, plant height, plant width, plant length, and number of shoots, and gives a maximum and yield of 4,189 kilograms per rai. which are different and Statistically significant When considering economic returns Applying fertilizer at the rate of 4-1-18 gave the highest net income of 102,682 baht, which was higher than the method that did not add fertilizer and the method that added a higher amount of fertilizer.
