Annual Growth Cycle of <I>Geodorum recurvum </I>(Roxb.) Alston

Abstract

The annual growth cycle of Geodorum  recurvum (Roxb.) Alston was investigated. The result showed that the plant was of deciduous type which stayed dormant from November to February of the consecutive year. The plant resumed its growth by emerging a vegetative shoot from the base of the pseudobulb in March, following shortly by inflorescence emergence. Flowering period included April to mid-May. Blooming lasted for 3 weeks. The plant continued to grow until October then the aerial parts began to die back.
