Aims and Scope

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University is a peer-reviewed academic journal. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated by at least three independent reviewers using a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.
           The journal aims to serve as a platform for disseminating high-quality scholarly works from faculty members, researchers, staff, and students from both within and outside the university, as well as researchers from Thailand and other countries. The journal publishes research and academic articles in the field of Science and Technology.
           The scope of the journal covers three major areas as follows:

Types of Articles

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University accepts two types of articles in the field of Science and Technology:

• Research Article:
  Articles presenting original research conducted systematically according to the scientific method. The research should contribute new knowledge or extend existing knowledge in Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or Applied Sciences, with appropriate analysis, discussion, and references.
• Academic Article:
  Articles that present analysis, synthesis, and scholarly discussion based on academic literature or previous studies. The articles should provide academic perspectives related to Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or Applied Sciences.
  
  

Language

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University accepts manuscripts written in Thai and English. All submissions must be written clearly and accurately in appropriate academic language, following correct grammar and spelling conventions. Manuscripts written in English should be carefully proofread by a native speaker or a qualified language editor to ensure clarity and linguistic quality.

Peer Review Process

           All manuscripts submitted to Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University undergo a rigorous peer-review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least three independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field and are not affiliated with the same institution as the authors. The journal employs a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure an objective, fair, and unbiased evaluation in accordance with academic standards.

Publication Frequency

           The journal publishes two issues per year (biannually), with 10 articles in each issue.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or article publication at any stage of the publication process.

Open Access Policy

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University operates under an open access policy. The journal is published on the Thai Journal Online (ThaiJO) platform using the Open Journal Systems (OJS), which is managed by the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre. All articles published in the journal are freely accessible online, allowing readers to read, download, and share the content without any subscription fees or access barriers. The journal is committed to promoting the wide dissemination and accessibility of academic knowledge to support scholarly communication at both national and international levels. Proper citation of the original source is required when the articles are reproduced or publicly distributed through any medium.

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University is supported and published by the Research and Development Institute, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, which provides oversight and support for the journal’s operations. The journal is managed by the editorial board, consisting of scholars and experts in the fields of science and technology from various academic institutions in Thailand. The editorial board is responsible for setting the journal’s policies and direction, overseeing the peer-review process, and ensuring the quality of published articles in accordance with academic standards and publication ethics.

Revenue Sources

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University is financially supported by the Research, Creative Works, and Innovation Fund of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, under the supervision of the Research and Development Institute, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, to support the journal’s operations and publication. However, all editorial decisions and the academic management of the journal are carried out independently by the editorial board in accordance with academic standards.

Advertising

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University does not accept advertising revenue or paid advertisements, as the journal is financially supported by Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University. However, information related to academic conferences, calls for papers, or other scholarly activities may be announced on the journal’s website at the discretion of the editorial board and without any charge. Such information is clearly separated from editorial content and does not influence the peer review process, manuscript evaluation, or publication decisions. All editorial decisions are made independently based solely on the academic merit and quality of submitted manuscripts.

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University promotes the journal through announcements and social media channels, providing information about the journal such as calls for papers, new issues, and related academic activities. The communication is primarily directed toward researchers and scholars in relevant fields. All promotional activities are conducted with transparency and ethical standards, ensuring that the information provided about the journal’s scope, aims, and publication processes is accurate and clear. The journal also respects data privacy and consent in accordance with relevant regulations and international standards in scholarly publishing.

Journal History

           Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University was first established in 1981, when the institution was known as Nakhon Si Thammarat Teachers College. The journal was founded as a platform for disseminating academic knowledge and scholarly works from faculty members, researchers, and scholars both within and outside the institution. Since its establishment, the journal has been published twice a year on a continuous basis.
           During its early years, the journal primarily focused on responding to the needs of local communities by publishing works related to education, culture, folklore, local wisdom, and other academic fields relevant to community development. The editorial management of the journal was conducted in various forms, including the rotation of responsibility among academic faculties within the institution for organizing and producing individual issues. As a result, the journal accepted articles from a wide range of disciplines during this period.
           In 1974, five teachers’ colleges in Thailand were selected to offer undergraduate programs leading to the Bachelor of Education degree through a two-year continuing program following the Higher Certificate in Education. Nakhon Si Thammarat Teachers College was one of the selected institutions and began offering undergraduate programs in science. This development gradually increased the dissemination of scientific knowledge and research through Wichcha Journal.
           In 2014, the university initiated a policy to enhance the journal in accordance with the standards of the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI). After several discussions, it was agreed that the university’s journals should have clearly defined academic scopes. The journal Nakbutr Paritat, administered by the Graduate School, was designated to publish research in the Humanities and Social Sciences, including works from graduate students. Meanwhile, Wichcha Journal was reoriented to focus primarily on publishing research and academic articles in the field of Science and Technology.
           At present, Wichcha Journal Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University continues to publish scholarly works regularly, aiming to promote high-quality research and support the advancement of knowledge in science and technology at both national and international levels.
