Production cost of Sugarcane supplied to Khon Kaen sugar mill in crop year 2007/2008

Abstract

The study on production cost of sugarcane was achieved by the survey of sugarcane farmers using thequestionnaire. The farmers were categorized into two groups, i.e. the first group with sugarcane product lower than500 tons and the with sugarcane product higher than 500 tons per season large scale farmer. The findings reveal thateven though the average cost per rai of large scale farmers was higher than small scale farmers, but stalk yield ofthe second group also higher than the first group. Resulting in the average cost of the large scale farmer lower thanthat of the latter, both for plant cane and ratoon cane. The average cost of the large scale farmers for plant cane andratoon cane was 759.94 and 798.15 baht per ton, respectively. The average cost of both groups was 777.74 baht.
