The Effect of Household Accounting with Application of Sample in Huai Ngu Community, Hankha District, Chainat Province

Abstract

This research article aims to 1) study the effect of household accounting of people in Huai Ngu community, Hankha District, Chainat Province using the application as a tool and 2) offers ways to promote appropriate financial management to local residents. The sample consisted of 24 village health volunteers. Data collection tools included questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and applications for recording data. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation.

The results show that 1) the total number of people who were able to complete household accounting for the scheduled period included 17 out of 24 participants, which accounted for about 70.83 percent. According to qualitative analysis, participants had increased level of knowledge of household accounting, with an average score of 6.64 and 8.73 points for before and after training respectively, as well as the ability to select applications that helped to make accounting more appropriate. As a result of household accounting and follow-up of relevant records over a two-month period, the number of participants with debt decreased by 22.22% and 29.41% of all recorders at the end of the first and the second months, respectively. Meanwhile, the number of participants with savings increased from 16.67% to 35.29%. Overall, participants appeared to have learned and use at least one accounting application and developed good household accounting discipline. 2) It could be suggested based on the findings that there should be supported to access the specific accounting. In addition, household accounting tools should be introduced together in families or small groups to achieve more broadly common learning, as well as continuation of education on financial planning and potential career development from relevant agencies in order to jointly create financial discipline for people in the community in a more comprehensive and sustainable way.
