Abstract

The experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of foliar potassium fertilizers (K) on yield and nutrient uptake in draw yard long bean grown in Sena soil series in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. The experimental design was carried out in completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments consisted of Tr1 was control (no foliar of K fertilizer), Tr2 to Tr4 were foliar of KCl fertilizer at concentration of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 percent and Tr5 to Tr7 were foliar of KNO3 fertilizer at concentration of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 percent. Results showed that both types and concentration of K had significant difference (P≤0.01) in pod fresh weight (PFW) and shoot biomass (SBM) and significantly different (P≤0.05) in pod dry weight (PDW). The application of foliar KNO3 at concentration of 1.0 percent gave the highest on PFW, PDW and SBM (297.1, 28.2 and 78.8 g/plant, respectively). The concentration and uptake of K were found significantly different (P≤0.01). The application of foliar KCl at concentration of 1.5 percent gave the highest on K concentration in PDW (25.6 g/kg) and foliar KNO3 at the concentration of 1.0 percent gave the highest on K uptake in PDW (0.68 g/plant). However, the foliar KCl had a significant difference (P≤0.01) for linear correlation between K uptake and PDW in draw yard long bean (r=0.89**).
