Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of feed supplement for grazing cattle on bodyweight change and revenue of farmer. Using 18 beef cattles deviced into 3 groups. Each group had 3 famers (2 beef cattle’s/famers). All treatments were allocated into a 3 x 3 latin square design. Three feed treatments were grazing cattle without concentrate supplementation (T1), grazing cattle with supplement concentrate and fermented cassava pulp 1.5% BW (T2), grazing cattle with supplement concentrate and fermented cassava pulp 2.0% BW (T3). The results showed that most of farmers had 2 breed beef cattle which were brahman crossbred and Hindu brazil crossbred cattle, cattle farming is based on the existing local animal feeds and fodder crops. The mean score of before the experiment was 11.87 after the experiment was 17.23, from the 20 grade. The treatment did not affect on BUN and Hematocrit of beef cattle. Based on the present findings, it could be concluded that grazing cattle with supplement concentrate and fermented cassava pulp at 2% BW did not affect on health of beef cattle but significantly increased revenue of farmer and bodyweight change.
