Spatial innovations for transformative and empowering sustainable agricultural livelihood in Thailand: A community-relevant conceptual framework

Abstract
The review article is a response to the need of Thai society to invest in the implementation of spatial innovations, especially in agriculture. Thai society used approximately 46.5 percent of her total land areas in various agricultural systems. Land is a finite and limited resource, with a variety of soil quality. A community-relevant conceptual framework is needed to guide research, development and implementation of spatial innovations for transformative and empowering sustainable agricultural livelihood in Thailand according to SDGs in 2030. Academic communities have two main roles, i.e., the development of the life-long capacity and culture in productivity and the development of new empowerment/capacity and new knowledge for Thai society. Research, development and implementation of spatial innovations should deliver spatial innovations for users at three levels, i.e., the scientific basic knowledge and understanding level, the local and the policy levels. Thai society has both opportunities and challenges in initiating and establishing research, development, and implementation of systematic spatial innovation process for the benefit of the Thai communities.
