Abstract

One hundred and ninety two isolates of Fusarium spp. were obtained from root rot symptom, symptomless and soil around rhizosphere of mulberry plants from six mulberry plantations in the Northeast Region,Thailand, during 2007 to 2008. Fusarium solani was the most frequently associated with symptom and symptomlessmulberries and also in soil from the plantations. Others Fusarium spp. included F. moniliforme, F. oxysporum,F. phaseoli, F. dlamini, F. culmorum, F. dimerum, F. graminearum, F. beomiforme, F. scirpi and F. anthophilum. All species of Fusarium isolated from mulberry plantations were tested for their pathogenicity on mulberry cutting inplastic glasses using spore suspension or mycelium in mulberry wood chip as inoculum. F. solani was the mostpathogenic, causing root rot at 100.0% disease incidence, 30 days after inoculation with the mycelium wood chip.Other species was also pathogenic to mulberry cutting at low level after inoculated with mycelium incited wood chipunder this condition.
