บทคัดย่อ
การสำรวจโรค Huanglongbing; HLB (Greening) ในสวนส้มจังหวัดเชียงใหม่และเชียงราย อาการของโรคพบว่าใบมีสีเหลืองซีดเส้นกลางใบและเส้นแขนงอาจมีสีเขียว หรือสีเขียวเฉพาะเส้นกลางใบ บางครั้งอาจมีอาการใบด่างเหลือง ผลส้มมีขนาดเล็กและร่วงก่อนสุก และจากการศึกษาทาง ultrastructure ของใบส้มที่เป็นโรคภายใต้กล้องจุลทรรศน์อิเล็กตรอนแบบส่องผ่าน โดยการใช้ใบที่แสดงอาการของโรคและใบปกติตัดเส้นกลางใบ แล้วนำมารักษาสภาพเนื้อเยื่อด้วย 2.5% glutaraldehyde ใน 0.1 M phosphate buffer และ 1 % osmium tetroxide ต่อด้วยการกำจัดน้ำออกจากเนื้อเยื่อด้วย ethanol และ acetone แล้วหล่อบล็อกเนื้อเยื่อใน Spurr ‘s resin ทำการตัดให้เป็นแผ่นบาง ๆ ด้วยเครื่อง Ultramicrotome ย้อมเนื้อเยื่อด้วย uranyl acetate และ lead citrate แล้วตรวจดูภายใต้กล้อง TEM พบลักษณะของเชื้อสาเหตุ fastidious bacterium ในบริเวณเซลล์ท่ออาหารและเซลล์ข้างเคียงจากใบที่เป็นโรค แต่ไม่พบเชื้อสาเหตุในเซลล์ท่ออาหารในใบส้มปกติ
