Decision of Tourists on Travelling to Ko Kret, Nonthaburi Province

Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study basic demographic factors, tourist behavior
factors, and media exposure towards Ko Kret of tourists, 2) to study the decision of tourists on travelling
to Ko Kret, Nonthaburi province, and 3) to compare decision of tourists on travelling to Ko Kret, Nonthaburi
province classified by basic demographic factors, tourist behavior factors, and media exposure towards
Ko Kret. Data were collected by using questionnaire. Samples consisted of 385 tourists at Ko Kret, Nonthaburi
province. Statistical analyses were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, minimum
figure, maximum figure, t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and LSD (least significant difference).
The results of the research revealed that most of the tourists were female with the average age of
30.87 years old, and being single. Tourists attained the bachelor’s degree and higher. Their occupation
was civil servant and state enterprise employee. The average income was 17,445.45 Baht. The main
purpose of travelling was for shopping. Numbers of passengers were more than 3 persons, travelling by
private car, numbers of travelling to Ko Kret were 3-4 times. The average expenses per trip were 1,123.56
Baht and tourism activities were 6-11 activities. Media exposure towards Ko Kret was from fellow tourists,
mass media from electronic media, internet, and specific media from posters. Decision of tourists on
travelling to Ko Kret, Nonthaburi province on the average was at the high level. Results of hypothesis testing
indicated that the overall decision of tourists with different occupations, main purpose of travelling for
shopping, numbers of passengers, numbers of travelling to Ko Kret, and media exposure about Ko Kret
via mass media had significantly different decision on travelling to Ko Kret, Nonthaburi province at 0.05
and 0.01 level of significance.
