บทคัดย่อ
ได้ดำเนินการรวบรวมพืชสกุลมะเขือ (Solanum spp.) บางชนิดในประเทศไทย ได้แก่ S. ferox Linn., S. mammosum Linn., S. melongena Linn. (4 สายพันธุ์), S. nigrum Linn., S. sanitwongsei Craib., S. seaforthianum Andr., S. spirale Roxb. และ S. torvum Swartz. รวม 8 ชนิด 11 สายพันธุ์ทำการศึกษาโดยใช้ลักษณะทางสัณฐานวิทยา ได้แก่ นิสัยการเจริญเติบโต การปรากฏของหนาม ลักษณะของลำต้น ใบ ดอก ผล และเมล็ด เพื่อหาความสัมพันธ์ทางพันธุกรรมของพืชสกุลมะเขือโดยวิธี Numerical taxonomy สามารถจำแนกพืชออกได้เป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มที่ 1 ประกอบด้วย S. nigram Linn., S. seaforthianum Andr. และ S. spirale Roxb. และกลุ่มที่ 2 ประกอบด้วย S. ferox Linn., S. mammosum Linn, S. melongena Linn. (4 สายพันธุ์), S. sanitwongsei Craib. และ S. torvum Swartz.
