Abstract
Experiments on the effect of sugar in holding solution on the postharvest quality of Brisbane lily flowers were carried out. Holding solutions tested were composed of 0, 2, 5 or 10 percent of sugar with 200 ppm of 8-HQS and 50 ppm of AgNO3 It revealed that low concentrations of sugar gave longer vase life while flower opening were better improved when the concentrations were high.
