Influence of Season and Temperature-Humidity Index on Placental Retention in Holstein-Friesian Crossbred Dairy Cattle
Main Article Content
Abstract
Placental retention rates of 1,039 Holstein-Friesian crossbred cows with normal calving during year 1983-1995 at Chiang Mai Livestock Research and Breeding Center were analysed, Highest and lowest rates occured in April and November respectively. Retention rate was not effected by season (P> 0.05). Relationship between Temperature Humidity Index (THI) and placental retention rate was positive, correlation coefficient was 0.58 and statistical significant.
