About the Journal

Basic Information

The Journal of Agricultural Research and Extension is an academic journal of Maejo University, aimed at publishing research articles and academic papers related to agriculture, food, health, the environment, agricultural innovations, and agricultural extension. It is a quarterly journal, with three issues published annually. The journal has been in print since 1983 (ISSN 0125-8850: Print) and has been published electronically since 2019 (E-ISSN 2630-0206 until 2022). Currently, it is published electronically (ISSN 2985-0118: Online).

Focus and Scope (Objectives and Scope of Articles Published)

Aim
To publish research and academic articles related to agriculture, food, health, the environment, agricultural innovations, and agricultural extension.
To promote the advancement of knowledge in agriculture, food, health, the environment, agricultural innovations, and agricultural extension.
To encourage academic collaboration and the development of research between universities or external organizations.

Scope
The Journal of Agricultural Research and Extension considers the publication of research articles and academic papers related to the development of innovations in agriculture, food, health, and the environment. Other academic articles that present new ideas, hypotheses supported by evidence, or extensive or in-depth opinions in any academic field related to agriculture, food, health, and the environment are also considered. Review articles based on the collection of data from various sources are also eligible for review by at least three qualified peer reviewers and may be published.

Peer Review Process

Articles accepted for publication are subject to academic evaluation and peer review, in accordance with the following criteria:

  1. Reviewers must possess expertise in the field relevant to the submitted manuscript.

  2. Reviewers must be external to the author(s)’ institution and not affiliated with the same organization.

  3. Reviewers must be drawn from at least two different institutions.

  4. Each manuscript must be evaluated by no fewer than three reviewers.

The review process is conducted under a double-blind system to ensure impartiality and objectivity.

Publication Frequency

  • Articles that complete the review process will be published in each issue with 20 articles per issue.

  • Quarterly journal with three issues per year:

    • Issue 1: January - April

    • Issue 2: May - August

    • Issue 3: September - December

Conditions/Requirements

  • Articles submitted for publication must not have been previously published or submitted to any other journal for publication simultaneously.

  • In case of article withdrawal during the review process, written notification is required.

  • If the article cannot be revised according to reviewer suggestions within the specified time, the author must notify the journal within 10 days; otherwise, the article may be withdrawn from the publication process.

  • Articles published on the ThaiJO system cannot be modified.

  • Payment for publication fees must be made after receiving notification from the journal's staff via email.

Publication Fees for Research and Academic Articles

  • The article must undergo preliminary screening by the editorial board (initial stage) concerning the manuscript preparation, content scope, and compliance with the journal's quality criteria.

  • Once approved, the journal staff will notify the author to pay the publication fee via email. A receipt will be issued after payment is confirmed.

The publication fee does not guarantee acceptance for publication but depends on peer review and editorial board evaluation. Once payment is made, no refunds will be provided under any circumstances.

Publication Fee Rates

  • Regular Publication Fee: 3,500 THB per article

** The journal does not have a policy of charging any processing fees other than the specified publication fee for articles.

Effective Date of Publication Fee Policy
The publication fee policy is effective from April 5, 2021, onwards.
