Abstract

Journal of Agricultural Research and Academic Promotion, Volume 41, Issue 3 (September–December 2024) is the final issue of the year 2024.

At the outset, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Agricultural Research and Academic Promotion would like to express its deepest condolences and sincere concern for all the citizens who have been affected by the recent severe weather events, which have caused widespread damage in both the northern and southern regions of Thailand.

In the last quarter of this year, Chiang Rai Province experienced prolonged heavy rainfall over several consecutive days, which led to flash floods and landslides across numerous areas. Over 60,000 households were impacted, with significant damage to agricultural lands and livestock production areas. In the southern region, the flooding situation affected more than 11 provinces, namely Chumphon, Ranong, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Trang, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat, leading to extensive disruptions in agricultural activities and the livelihoods of farmers.

These unfortunate events serve as a clear indication of the ongoing climate variability that we are experiencing. As a result, it is evident that the adaptation and continuous development of agricultural and livestock production systems are crucial in addressing these challenges effectively.

In this issue, readers will find research articles and academic papers on a range of topics that aim to address the needs of society amidst the challenges posed by changing climatic conditions. These include studies on innovative crop cultivation technologies, biodiversity research, plant variety selection, agricultural product processing, and the development of herbal and plant-based products. Additionally, there are studies on the production and marketing of native chicken, along with various other research topics that provide valuable insights.

The Editorial Board of the Journal of Agricultural Research and Academic Promotion sincerely hopes that the articles presented in this issue will provide beneficial knowledge and foster an exchange of ideas that will contribute to the continued advancement of Thai agriculture, ensuring its ability to adapt to the changing environment.

As we approach the New Year of 2025, I, along with the entire Editorial Board, would like to extend our heartfelt wishes to all readers for happiness, prosperity, good health, success in all professional endeavors, and the fulfillment of all aspirations.

We look forward to welcoming you in the next issue in 2025.
