Abstract

Journal of Agricultural Research and Academic Promotion, Volume 41, Issue 2 (May–August 2024) is published during the crop-growing season for various crops. In many areas, issues such as irregular rainfall and flooding from storms continue to pose challenges, leading to difficulties in crop cultivation and, in some cases, the destruction of agricultural land. Research in agricultural production and academic promotion amidst the changing climate requires the appropriate use of technology and innovation, especially in activities ranging from production to processing, which must be carried out with strict controls to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This issue of the Journal of Agricultural Research features 20 interesting and diverse articles, covering topics from upstream to downstream processes. Examples include the use of remote sensing data to study certain properties of soil in areas at risk of becoming acidic or saline soils in central Thailand; studies on changes in forest types across Thailand using geospatial technology; the chemical and physical properties and glucomannan content of konjac flour from the "Sandy Root" variety, produced using different drying and extraction methods; the properties of bacteria isolated from fish pond water for use as probiotics in aquaculture; the development of ready-to-eat cassava chips using microwave technology; gene resistance testing and evaluation of resistance to leaf blight in local rice varieties grown in some northern regions of Thailand, and more.

The Editorial Board of the Journal of Agricultural Research hopes that readers will gain valuable knowledge and insights that can inspire further research to continuously enhance agricultural knowledge and development. We look forward to meeting you again in the final issue of the year.
